Allow multiple quick-access color palettes w/ named swatches

Upvoting this specifically for the part about adding “categories”. I was tempted to start a separate request for that but don’t want to muddy the water.

I’d love to be able to assign categories to tasks, such as “personal”, “work”, but also more specific ones like “Creative work”, “admin”, “communication”. And I’d love, just like Taylor, to be able to assign a color per category, so at a quick glance I could see if I spent most of my day on admin work or on creative tasks.

If we can create categories, it wouldn’t take much more effort to then spit out some analytics based on those categories which could become another great feature (imagine nicely colored charts showing where your time goes).

Hey Taylor, thank you so much for the thoughtful suggestions, and especially the illustration, I really appreciate it! I love these ideas and I’ll definitely be thinking about these things for upcoming enhancements.

A few things to note:

“would love if you can type in hex# for custom colors.”

This is actually already supported, thanks to a previous feedback board request:Hex Codes Color Palette 🌈 — here’s a quick video demo:

“have unlimited colors added.”

This is also supported; there is no inherent limit to the number of colors you can add to a palette in that color palette editor. Let me know if you meant something else.

“would also be cool if you could have multiple palettes”

This is certainly one of the more feasible/easy suggestions to implement, so I’ll look into this!

You can already do this too! Just long-press to rearrange the swatches within the palette editor.

This is getting pretty niche/advanced, but I appreciate the spirit of the idea! Would love to get here someday once the app is making more money!
