When I want to move a recurring task, the app will ask me if it’s for “just this time”, “all future”, or “all” instances for this task.
In 99% of cases, it’s “just this time”.
I’m either moving, deleting, lengthening, or shortening recurring tasks, for today.
I think it might be helpful if there were a default setting for changes made to recurring tasks.
One could make it so that by default, changes are for “just this time”, “all future”, or “all”, so that we would not need to be asked each time. And perhaps an option in case people prefer to continue to be asked each time.
Google calendar makes it so that the app doesn’t always ask you. If you move an event, it just assumes you want to change it for just this time. However, for deleting, changing duration, or if you actually want it to be for future occurrences too, you need to tap the event, edit, change the time, and then it will ask you.
Being able to switch a default setting to “all future occurrences” could be helpful too. Sometimes I’m doing a big overhaul of my routines, and I’m going to make many changes at once that I want to be continuous. Again, this isn’t the usual, but if I could briefly change the setting so that I’m not asked each time, it could be helpful in this scenario too.
