Focus Mode: Timer counts additional time after it expires.

I would like to see the timer in Focus Mode continue to count time after the time expires, and until the task is marked done. For instance, if the task is set to last 5 minutes, and it takes more time, could the timer continue to count until checked? This would allow one to understand how much time tasks truly take and make future adjustments to their schedule.
