Multi-select button in bottom toolbar

Hey,

Since there’s unused space down there, it feels like a perfect spot for a multi-select button.

Currently, multi-select takes two steps. Plus, choosing it from the top-right menu makes it harder to reach with one hand. That’s fine for most of the menu items since they’re used less frequently (at least for me), but having multi-select immediately reachable would make workflow faster.

    Thanks for the feedback James! I’ll be honest, I don’t love the idea of adding things to the UI and toolbars, especially that toolbar, since it’s so prominent and the first thing you see in the app and main thing users interact with.

    The “appointment shift buttons” (on the right-hand side) are a notable exception, simply because they are both (1) a flagship feature of the app, and (2) would be much less intuitive and “discoverable” if tucked away in some submenu.

    Nevertheless, you have a point: Multi-select is a handy thing, and it ought to be a bit more easily-accessible than it is now.

    To that end, I’ve just gone ahead and implemented an idea I’ve had for a while: Now, when you long-press on a task and remain still for a moment, it will automatically enter Multi-Select mode and pre-select the task that you were long-pressing on.

    You can see this new feature demonstrated below, and it will be released in 9.3.4 coming soon.

      Love this. Definitely a great improvement!

      Totally fair to want to keep the UI clean/minimal. That said, one of the things I love about the app is the range of customizability. If you ever wanted to offer it down the road, you could keep the toolbar clean by default (no Multi-Select button), with an option to toggle it on/off in “Customize Schedule Appearance,” preserving the minimal default while still giving one-tap access for anyone who wants it.

      Either way, definitely not a necessity, and I really appreciate this change you’ve just made!
