Option to Unlink Scheduled Time from Tasks

Hi Luke,

I really love TimeFinder and have been using it every day.

In previous versions, I could drag a task from the schedule back to the list, and it became an unscheduled task again. This workflow was one of the main reasons I chose TimeFinder.

However, in version 9.7.2, when I drag a task from the list to the schedule in Split View, the schedule becomes linked to the task, and a schedule icon appears next to it. Even if I drag the task back to the list, the scheduled date remains attached.

This is very inconvenient because I often want to schedule the same task again on a different day. For example, if I don’t complete a task today, I want to drag it onto tomorrow’s schedule. With the current behavior, the old scheduled date stays linked to the task, making it difficult to reuse it naturally.

Many recurring tasks are completed at different times each day, so permanently linking a scheduled date to the task doesn’t fit this workflow.

Would it be possible to either:

  • restore the previous behavior, where dragging a task back to the list removes its scheduled date, or

  • add an option to disable automatic linking between tasks and scheduled times?

I believe many users who use TimeFinder for flexible time blocking would appreciate this option.

Thank you very much for considering this feedback.
