Reassigning the day of a task

The past few days, when I have tried to change the date of task, it doesn’t change. The calendar comes up, I select the new date, then nothing. I’ve had to work around by either duplicating the task (which is a nice feature I hadn’t used before) then deleting the original or simply adding it again in the new day/time slot.
