Reoccurring calendar lock feature
Whenever I lock the notification feature after I create a new task it doesn't stay locked therefore I do not get any notifications. Defeats the purpose to use this app. I need notifications. Please advise

Hey Kylie, sorry to hear about this issue. I’d love to help but first I’d like to understand the issue better. Can you share a quick screen recording of what you’re seeing?
Here’s a quick guide on how to do so:

Thanks so much!

I set up a reoccurring task that I want to do every morning. I set up repeat with a notification but the "on" button is selected
I lock it but then it automatically goes to off unlocked which doesn't send me a notification which defeats the purpose of why I paid for premium. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I want this to be reoccurring every single day with a notification five minutes before the task is supposed to start and that's it With this issue.
Thank you

3rd request! I need help. I'm startling to dislike your app. Please tell me how to lock the notification so they'll alert me and make it stay.

Hi Kylie, I apologize for the confusion. The “Lock Task” setting solely prevents the task from being moved/rescheduled; it has no impact on any other task settings.
You can see hints like this by long-pressing on the task buttons to see descriptions of the buttons
Additionally, you can learn more about locked tasks and TimeFinder’s many other features in the “Discover TimeFinder’s Top Features” section in settings
So as for your original concern:
I do apologize for the issue, though I can confidently say this doesn’t have anything to do with the lock.
As for why the notifications aren’t triggering, I think i see a potential misunderstanding; you showed this picture:
In this picture, each of these buttons shows their current setting; that is:
Recurrence: repeats every day
Color: Blue
Notifications: Off
Lock (for movement): On (shown as a locked padlock)
As such, if you were to leave it as it’s shown here, that would explain why you’re not seeing any notifications for this recurring task.
By default, for all new tasks, you should always receive notifications at their start time. You can set your default settings for new tasks in Settings > Notifications.
Let me know if this helps. Thanks for your patience!

No worries thank you very much for your response. I have my notification set, but the task does not stay on the notifications item. The off circle that I have in my example. I turned it on, but then automatically goes to off the next day. So if that's the notifications function within my task, it's not staying. Is there a way to make it stay?

Ahh I understand now! I’ve never noticed or heard of this bug before, but I just tested it on my phone and I see what you mean now.
In my test, I see that if you toggle the “notification” setting on a task, there’s a bug where it sets all the future occurrences of that task to the OPPOSITE of that setting—exactly matching what you have described.
I really appreciate your explanations and pictures and patience; I will look into this and fix this right away.
In the meantime there is a workaround of sorts: if you disable recurrence on that task, save it (by hitting Done), and then re-configure recurrence on it, and don’t touch the notification toggle button, it should work perfectly—sending notifications for each occurrence of the recurring task as expected. It’s only when you tap the button to toggle the setting that things get corrupted. I realize how annoying that is and I will be fixing this today and rolling out a new update very soon.
Thanks again so much for reporting this and for your patience!

Wonderful I'll give that a try. Thank you so much for all your help. I really enjoy your app, but this was the biggest thing that I need most.

What am I doing wrong? It's not working.

When you turn off recurrence, it looks like the glitch is turning off the notification as well. After disabling recurrence (which you’re doing correctly), you need to tap the notification setting again to set it to “On” before you re-enable recurrence. If you do that, this should be fixed for good.

So the on feature stays but the app doesn’t alert me everyday. How do I fix that?

Thank you for reporting this issue Kylie; I just looked into this and found that it was another bug; I apologize! I just fixed it in the beta version, in case you’re interested in giving that a try. Just let me know and I’ll send you an email invitation.
To be precise, the bug is that the app is only scheduling notifications for the next-up occurrence of each recurring appointment. That means if it’s 10am, and you have a daily recurring appointment at noon, you’ll get that notification at noon today, but unless you open TimeFinder again (which re-runs the notification scheduler), you won’t get a notification at noon tomorrow.
Does this match what you’ve observed?
Thanks for your feedback and patience, ! The app is generally quite battle-tested, and used by thousands of people every day, but everyone uses the app differently—you happen to be running into some bugs that have gone unnoticed for many months. I’m sorry you’re running into these circumstances and I hope the app is reliable for you going forward!

No worries at all. I love your app just trying to figure things out.
