Snapping to grid

When dragging an entry, please let it snap to the top edge of that entry like in apple calendar, not having to look at the “shadow” of the event to guess where it is placed. It is really annoying 🙈

      Hey Luke,

      amazing 🤩

Thank you very much for taking your time to answering my feature request. Really apreciate it. And thank you for implementing it 🙌🏼

I think my frustration lies in the fact that every Calendar App seems to have a different Solution to moving entries. Fantastical for example is a nightmare for me because of it.

I think the hovering is kind of cool, but for me more often than not I tend to misplace items.

So thank you for the quick solution. I have been enjoying TimeFinder very much so far.

“every Calendar App seems to have a different Solution to moving entries.”

That is a very valid point of feedback, and I really appreciate it! I live in TimeFinder-land, so it’s easy for me to forget what it must be like to be trying different apps and finding that each one handles familiar-looking interactions in unfamiliar ways. Candid feedback like this is invaluable, and so I’m happy to accommodate. I’m always thinking about details like the and which behaviors to make the defaults or not.

To that end, please let me know if you have any other feedback, happy to explore more. And I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the app despite this friction!

        Luke

“Really annoying” is a strong reaction; I’m sorry to disappoint. This is the first time I’ve heard this feedback. I personally quite prefer TimeFinder’s shadow-style drag-and-drop behavior, and I designed it like this to suit the many differences between TimeFinder and more-conventional calendar apps, such as how underlying appointments can be displaced and moved out of the way simply by dragging and hovering the dragged item overhead. I do understand your perspective though, and I’ll explore the feasibility of allowing the behavior you’re looking for as an option in the settings. Thank you for your feedback and interest.
