This behavior you’ve observed (independence between tasks in Lists and their scheduled instances in the Schedule) is by design, and consistent across platforms, but I understand your request (“the ability to keep them synced”) and I will keep this in mind as a potential future enhancement. @ferric Also, regarding your second point about syncing the duration of the scheduled task back to the list entry: that is less feasible, due to the nature of how it works. You see, you can drag a task from a List into your Schedule as many times as you’d like, and this is a common operation by users.
Consider this:
you have a task “Gardening” in a list. 30 minutes.
You drag it into your schedule on Monday, and Tuesday.
You resize the task to be 60 minutes on Tuesday.
Now what? I suppose we could sync that back to the list entry, but what about Monday? Now Monday is out of sync (30 minutes instead of 69, etc).
Also, we’ll soon be introducing Subtasks , which would make this even more complex.

ok, fair enough, but here’s a thought:
On a schedule modification the original task could be copied with the duration applied to the copy, and a numerical suffix auto appended to the copy title.
Theorising in the future ‘subtask’ feature, the parent task could have its total duration extended based on the ‘new’ task that has been generated from the copy.
How to handle indicating that the the parent task is overlapping other tasks ‘elsewhere’/not in this view might require a little warning etc.
