Visually indicate collapsed/minimized tasks as “done”

When a task is marked done, the diagonal-line pattern is a really helpful visual indicator. But when that same task is collapsed/minimized, it loses the diagonal lines, so it’s no longer obvious whether it’s done or not.

I’ve caught myself checking a few times to confirm whether a minimized task is actually completed. It would be great if collapsed tasks could still retain some “done” indicator (even a subtle one), so the status stays clear at a glance.

    Thanks for this one James, good catch! I’ve fixed it and it will be available soon.

    One pedantic clarification, which I figure you might appreciate as one of TimeFinder’s most loyal power-users:

    The diagonal hatch mark effect you referred to actually represents that the task is “locked”—not necessarily completed. (Completion, on the other hand, is independently represented by the strikethrough effect on the task title.)

    The reason you’re seeing that your completed tasks have this effect is because in TimeFinder, by default, I’ve made it so Completed Tasks/Appointments get Locked by default—so as to help users avoid accidentally moving them out of place (like via the task-shift buttons in the bottom right corner) after they’ve been designated as completed. This setting is accessible in “Settings > Schedule > Lock Completed Appointments”.


    Just figured I’d share in case you find yourself perplexed by either of these things in the future. Thanks for the great feedback and bug reports!

      Ahh yes, good to know! I think I’d been subconsciously associating the diagonal lines with “done,” so when I was thinking about how to show collapsed tasks as completed, that’s the simplest visual cue that came to mind.

      Thank you for clarifying how it works, and for showing there’s a toggle option. I definitely find it most helpful to keep them locked once done.
